The historical panels, the machines, the objects displayed, want to give us an idea of centuries of artisan production and then of the industrial techniques involved in coffee production. Simple machines and more advanced ones, perhaps cold and inanimate for some, imaginative robots for others or even “characters” for the most creative, that know how to offer us company and relaxing moments both at home or at the café, in the course of our daily life.
This is the miracle that coffee is able to perform with its beneficial qualities by means of the machines that transform it into a black and aromatic elixir.

The name coffee comes from the word “QAHWA”, which in Arab indicates any vegetable drink, in fact, coffee was called “the wine of Arabia”. Legends and stories lead us into the fascinating world of coffee’s origins.
From Ethiopia, coffee spread to Arabia with great success, reaching the whole area of the Middle-East and the Mediterranean; together with the drink all the utensils that were useful for its preparation were also adopted.
In the 16th Century coffee reached Constantinople where the first coffee shop was opened. In Europe, coffee became known only many years after and imported successively to cocoa and tea. In Vienna, towards 1683, at the end of the siege of the Turks, the first coffee house was built. It is necessary, however, to wait for the years posterior to Napoleon’s continental block, for coffee to spread with great success all over western Europe.

The museum is open only to groups and by appointment. Guided visit to the exhibit on all the phases of coffee production.
