The Mendrisiotto and Lower Ceresio Region is a land of traditions and in the Easter period there are several rites connected to Holy Week. On Wednesday the re-enactment of the Passion of Christ takes place in Coldrerio while on Maundy Thursday and good Friday the evocative historical processions pass through the historical centre of Mendrisio.
But of course this region does not offer its guests only religious traditions. The arrival of Easter signals the beginning of the spring season and the reopening of many activities linked to tourism.
Here are some of the appointments not to be missed and some suggestions for visiting the area.
